It brings the PDFelement toolset to iOS and Android, so documents can be edited on the device that received them. Text and images are changed directly inside the file, and the built-in scanner with OCR turns a photographed page into text you can search and copy. On iOS the app converts between thirteen file formats, including .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .pages, .rtf, .html and .epub; the Android build covers eight. In practice this removes the detour of emailing a document to a desktop machine just to correct a price in a quote or pull a signed page out of a scan.
It fits people who receive documents away from a desk and need to finish them there, such as site engineers, field service technicians, teachers marking coursework and students annotating lecture PDFs. The scan-plus-OCR path is the practical reason: a delivery note photographed on a phone becomes a searchable PDF that can be filed and found later, with no flatbed scanner involved. Wondershare states the PDFelement range has more than two million daily active users across desktop, web and mobile. For staff who work mainly at a fixed workstation, the Windows or Mac edition remains the stronger fit, because form creation and redaction sit only in the desktop feature set.
OCR text recognition is included in the licensed mobile app, but the send-for-signature workflow Wondershare markets as legally compliant eSign is started from the desktop or web version, not from the phone. On mobile you can create a signature by drawing it with a finger or stylus, add stamps, and password-protect the finished file. Requesting signatures from several recipients, setting the signing order and tracking progress is done through Protect > Request eSign on the desktop app, after which recipients can sign on their own phones. Wondershare also publishes OCR language coverage only for the Windows and Mac editions, 29 and 30 languages respectively, with no equivalent list for iOS or Android, so check your source language before relying on mobile OCR for anything unusual.
Both builds share the same core toolset, but iOS has wider format conversion and a published interface-language list, while Android runs on a lower minimum OS. iOS 14 or newer is required on iPhone and iPad; Android 7.0 (Nougat) or newer is required, on armeabi-v7a or arm64-v8a processors. The conversion gap is the one that matters day to day: iOS handles .pages, .rtf, .html, .gif and .tiff alongside the Office formats, whereas Android is limited to .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .jpeg, .png, .epub and .txt. If you regularly receive .rtf attachments or Apple Pages files, that difference decides which platform licence to buy.

Not for document production work, because several tools Wondershare lists under the desktop feature set have no mobile equivalent. Redaction of sensitive text and images, automatic fillable-form creation with Form Auto-Recognition, batch conversion, Bates numbering and the virtual PDF printer are documented for Windows and Mac only. The mobile apps can fill existing interactive form fields, including text fields, checkboxes and radio buttons on iOS, but they cannot build those fields in the first place. A legal secretary preparing a redacted disclosure bundle still needs the desktop edition; a surveyor annotating that same bundle on site does not.
Check the platform, the licence scope and the intended use. Wondershare sells the mobile plans per platform and labels them explicitly as being for iOS only, with a separate Android store page, so a licence bought for one mobile OS does not carry over to the other and neither covers Windows or Mac. A combined Windows, Mac and iOS bundle exists for people who need both desktop and mobile coverage. Finally, confirm whether the documents are private or commercial, because the individual licence is granted for personal, private and non-commercial use.
The trial adds a watermark when a file is saved and caps conversion at half of a PDF's pages, up to three pages for documents longer than six pages. Batch combining is limited to three files within 20 MB, only one signature can be stored, and Compress PDF, Flatten PDF, Text-Only Recognition and OCR stay unavailable until the app is licensed.
Not under an individual licence. Wondershare requires the Team & Business plan for company use, which it defines as internal use such as training and file management, external use such as marketing, and editing PDF documents for paying clients.
PDFelement for iOS stores and syncs files through PDFelement Cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive, and keeps saved signatures and stamps consistent across devices. The Android app includes 20 GB of free PDFelement Cloud storage, which helps when a scanned site report has to reach a colleague before you are back at the office.
The mobile apps let you switch between DeepSeek, GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini and Gemini 1.5 Pro when chatting with a PDF. The same AI layer handles summaries, mind maps, grammar checking, AI content detection, voice-to-text notes and translation into more than 50 languages.
