Do Office 2021 Pro Plus and Windows 11 Pro work together?

Yes. Microsoft's documentation for Office 2021 names Windows 10 and Windows 11 as the operating systems the suite is supported on, and Windows 10 reached the end of Microsoft's support on 14 October 2025. That leaves Windows 11 as the current supported platform for a new Office 2021 installation, which is the practical reason the two products are sold as one package for a machine being set up or replaced. Office 2021 Professional Plus is a Windows-only edition: Access and Publisher have no macOS version at all, so this pairing is a PC arrangement rather than a cross-platform one.

How does Windows 11 Pro protect the files Office 2021 creates?

Through BitLocker drive encryption, which Microsoft lists for Windows Pro, Enterprise and Education editions but not for Windows Home. This matters with Office 2021 because the purchase is a set of installed desktop programs and carries none of the Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online or SharePoint Online: Word documents, Excel workbooks, .accdb databases and Outlook data files sit on the local disk. On a notebook that leaves the office, an encrypted system drive is what stops a lost machine from becoming a readable archive of your correspondence. Windows 11 Home offers Device Encryption instead, which switches on automatically on qualifying hardware but gives you no per-drive control, no BitLocker To Go for removable media and none of the BitLocker management tools.

In which order should the two products be installed?

Set up Windows 11 Professional first, then install Office 2021 Professional Plus into the finished system. Doing it the other way round means installing Office twice, because a clean Windows setup erases the system volume together with the program files and registry entries the suite writes — and Microsoft's deployment documentation states that Office 2021 installs on the system drive and cannot be redirected to another one. Microsoft also recommends removing existing Office versions before Office 2021 is deployed, which is one more reason to do it on a system that is already finished rather than mid-migration. It is worth switching BitLocker on before you copy over document archives and Outlook data files, so those files are written to a volume that is already encrypted instead of triggering a full-drive encryption pass afterwards.

Who is this bundle best suited for?

It fits a PC that is being built, rebuilt or moved off Windows 10 and needs both the system and the office suite in one step. The case it covers better than a smaller Office edition is local database and print-layout work: Access is in Professional Plus and in no consumer Office 2021 edition, so a workshop, practice or small firm that keeps its parts list or order book in an .accdb file and lays out its own price lists gets the database application and Publisher on the same machine — and, through Hyper-V, a way to test a change in a virtual machine before it touches the live system, provided that guest Windows carries its own licence. If nobody in the business opens a database file or builds a brochure, that argument does not apply and a smaller Office edition is the more sensible purchase.

Whenever you already own one half. A PC that is already running Windows 11 Professional gains nothing from a second operating system, so only the Office key is needed, and the same applies in reverse to a machine that already has a current Office suite installed. If the PC will never encrypt a drive, host a Remote Desktop session or run a virtual machine, Windows 11 Home covers the operating system side, because Office 2021 runs on Windows 11 regardless of the edition. There is also a timing argument against the Office half specifically: Microsoft's support for Office 2021 ends in October 2026, after which the suite stops receiving security updates, so for a workstation that has to stay in service for years, the newer Office generation is the version to compare against before you choose this bundle.

What is not included in this bundle?

The Microsoft Teams client and everything that belongs to a Microsoft 365 subscription. Microsoft's documentation states that Office 2021 no longer includes the Teams client app, so a new installation does not place Teams on the machine. The purchase also carries none of the Microsoft 365 services — no Exchange Online, no SharePoint Online, no cloud storage allowance — and real-time co-authoring is among the features Microsoft lists as absent from Office 2021 for commercial customers. Publisher is included here, but Microsoft is retiring the application and will not support it after October 2026, and neither half of this bundle contains a third-party security suite beyond the Microsoft Defender protection built into Windows.

Does Windows 11 Pro already contain an Office version?

No. Windows 11 Professional contains no Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access or Publisher, which is why the office suite is the second half of this bundle. Windows 11 does preinstall the new Outlook mail app, but that is a mail client rather than the classic Outlook desktop program that comes with Office 2021 Professional Plus, and its handling of local .pst data files is only partial.

Does Office 2021 Pro Plus also run on Windows 11 Home?

Yes. Microsoft lists Windows 11 as a supported operating system for Office 2021 without restricting it to a particular edition. The Professional edition in this bundle adds BitLocker, Hyper-V, Windows Sandbox and Remote Desktop hosting, none of which the Office applications need in order to run.

Is Publisher still part of Office 2021 Professional Plus?

Yes. Microsoft lists Publisher among the applications in Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021, and this is the last Office generation to carry it, since the application was dropped from Office 2024. Microsoft will not support Publisher after October 2026, and the application is available on Windows only.

Is Microsoft Access part of Office 2021 Professional Plus?

Yes. Microsoft lists Access alongside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Publisher for Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021, and it is not part of the consumer Office 2021 editions. Access runs on Windows only and is not available in the macOS version of Office.

We offer exclusively unused and non-activated product keys. The keys have never been redeemed for activation and are fully available to the purchaser for the first-time activation of the respective product. A key that has already been redeemed could no longer be used for a new activation and is therefore not offered by us.

Trading in these product keys is permissible in the European Union and in Switzerland under current case law, provided that the necessary conditions are met. These conditions are as follows:

• The software must originally have been placed on the market with the consent of the rightholder within the territory of the EU, another contracting state of the EEA, or Switzerland by way of sale.
• The license for the software must have been granted in return for the payment of a fee intended to enable the rightholder to obtain remuneration corresponding to the economic value of the copy of the software.
• The rightholder must have granted the first acquirer the right to use the software permanently (for an unlimited period).
• Any improvements and updates that the subsequently downloaded computer program has compared to the originally downloaded one must be covered by a maintenance agreement concluded between the rightholder and the first acquirer.
• The original licensee must have made their own copies unusable.

This trade is legally permissible because the underlying license was already placed on the market with the consent of the rightholder within the EU/EEA or Switzerland in return for appropriate remuneration. As a result, the so-called principle of exhaustion has taken effect, which permits the resale of individual product keys — in particular those originating from volume license agreements. Microsoft or the respective software provider has already received appropriate remuneration for this.
