How does the anti-theft feature actually work?

The user signs the device in to the G DATA Mobile Security Center, a web portal accessed from any browser, and grants the app device-administrator rights on the phone. From the portal, the owner can trigger location, lock the screen, play an alert tone even in silent mode, or wipe data remotely.
