Installation Guide for MailStore User Add-On

Note: The MailStore User Add-On is NOT installable software — it is a license extension that increases the number of users in MailStore Server or MailStore Service Provider Edition.

1. Prerequisites

Before using the User Add-On, ensure:

  • MailStore Server (or SPE) is already installed and running
  • Administrative access to MailStore Management Console
  • Valid license key (User Add-On license)

2. Installation Process (Base System)

Since the Add-On depends on MailStore Server:

  1. Download MailStore from official site → MailStore Server download page
  2. Run the setup file (.exe)
  3. Follow installation wizard:
    • Accept license agreement
    • Choose installation path
    • Complete setup
  4. Launch MailStore Client / Management Console

3. Activation of User Add-On (Key Step)

Unlike plugins, the User Add-On is activated via licensing:

  1. Open MailStore Client
  2. Login as Administrator
  3. Navigate to:
    Administrative Tools → License Information
    
  4. Click “Change License” / “Update License”
  5. Enter your:
    • New license key (includes User Add-On)
  6. Apply and confirm

After activation:

  • User limit increases instantly
  • No restart required (in most cases)

4. Deployment Process (Enterprise Setup)

A. Adding New Users

After activation:

  1. Go to:
    Administrative Tools → Users and Archives
    
  2. Add users:
    • Manual creation
    • Directory sync (Active Directory, LDAP)
  3. Assign permissions and roles

B. Client Access Deployment

Users can access archives via:

  • MailStore Client
  • Web Access
  • IMAP access
  • Outlook integration

5. Verification

After activation and deployment:

  • Check updated user count:
    Administrative Tools → License Information
    
  • Confirm:
    • New users can log in
    • Archiving works properly
    • Access permissions are correct
