Installation Guide for Macrium SiteBackup

1) Download Products

  • Go to the official Macrium Software website
  • Create or log in to your Macrium account
  • Access the Downloads section from your account dashboard

Download the following components:

  • SiteManager Platform Installer (central management server)
  • SiteBackup Agents (deployed on endpoints)

2) Installation Process

  • Run the installer:
    macrium_remote_mgnt_x64.exe
  • Complete the installation wizard
  • Configure basic settings (ports, credentials, storage paths)

After installation:

  • Access the SiteManager Web Console via browser
    https://<server-ip>:<port>

3) Activation Process

Online:

  1. Open SiteManager Platform dashboard
  2. Go to → Licenses Page
  3. Click → Add License
  4. Enter your SiteBackup license key
  5. Click → Add

Offline:

  1. Go to Licenses → Add License
  2. Enter license key → Generates Activation Code
  3. On another (online) system:
    • Login to Macrium account
    • Select Activate Licenses Offline
  4. Enter:
    • License key
    • Activation code
  5. Generate Offline Activation Key
  6. Return to SiteManager:
    • Paste key
    • Click Activate

4) Applying Licenses to Products

After activation:

  • Install SiteBackup Agent on:
    • Servers
    • Workstations
    • Virtual Machines
  • Agents connect to SiteManager automatically

Important Clarification:

  • Licenses are NOT always instantly auto-assigned blindly
  • They are assigned based on:
    • Agent type (Server vs Workstation)
    • License availability

5) Post-Activation Operational Flow

A. Add Devices

  • Install agent on machines
  • They appear in dashboard

B. Configure Backups

Create:

  • Backup Definitions
  • Schedules
  • Repositories

C. Run & Monitor

  • Start backups
  • Monitor via central console

D. Restore

Use:

  • Remote restore
  • Rescue media
