What is included in Microsoft Outlook 2019?
Focused Inbox — Sorts priority mail into two tabbed views.
Calendar and tasks — Schedule meetings across up to three zones.
@mentions — Tag colleagues directly inside an email.
Travel cards — Flight and package details summarized automatically.
Read Aloud — Text-to-speech reads messages out loud.
Important — Standalone Outlook does not include Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
What are the main benefits of Microsoft Outlook 2019?
Outlook 2019 is the classic, one-time-purchase desktop client for email, calendar, contacts, and tasks, installed locally on Windows. It belongs to the Office 2019 family under Microsoft's Fixed Lifecycle Policy, and Microsoft ended support for it on October 14, 2025, so it no longer receives security or quality updates.
One-time purchase — Pay once instead of a monthly subscription.
Runs offline — Manage stored mail without a live connection.
Many accounts — Connects Exchange, IMAP, POP, and Outlook.com mailboxes.
Local storage — Keeps mail in PST and OST files.
Classic ribbon — Familiar desktop layout, not the web app.
Frozen features — No surprise interface changes after installation.
What does Microsoft Outlook 2019 do?
Outlook 2019 is a desktop personal information manager that handles email, calendar, contacts, and tasks in one classic Windows application. It connects to Exchange, Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, and standard IMAP or POP mailboxes, keeping a local copy of messages in PST or OST files so mail stays searchable offline. Compared with Outlook 2016, it added Focused Inbox, @mentions, multi-time-zone calendars, travel and package summary cards, and Read Aloud text-to-speech. It is the classic desktop client, not the free "new Outlook" app that Microsoft now ships with Windows.
Who is Outlook 2019 best suited for?
It fits users who want a locally installed, non-subscription mail client and already have an email account to connect it to, because Outlook 2019 is a client and does not provide a mailbox of its own. Typical fits are people running their own Exchange or a custom-domain IMAP/POP account who prefer the classic ribbon over the web-based new Outlook. Because standalone Outlook 2019 contains only the mail client — no Word, Excel, or PowerPoint — it suits someone who needs email and calendaring but not the full Office suite. One caveat applies to everyone: Microsoft ended support on October 14, 2025, so there are no further security patches.
What does Outlook 2019 actually do for everyday work?
In daily use, its clearest gains over Outlook 2016 are calendar and triage features: you can display up to three time zones side by side when scheduling across regions, and Focused Inbox automatically splits mail into Focused and Other so routine notifications stay out of the way. @mentions let you tag a colleague with the @ key so the message lands in their flagged items, and travel or delivery emails are surfaced as summary cards with the key details pulled out. Reminders now pop over whatever window you are working in instead of hiding behind it. These are conveniences layered on the same core mail engine as 2016, not a redesign.
How does Outlook 2019 compare to Outlook 2021 and Outlook 2024?
All three are perpetual, one-time-purchase desktop clients with the same core mail, calendar, and Focused Inbox features, so the decisive difference is the support lifecycle rather than day-to-day functionality. Outlook 2019 support ended on October 14, 2025; Outlook 2021 is supported until October 13, 2026; and Outlook 2024 is supported until around October 2029. That means 2019 no longer receives security updates, while 2021 and 2024 still do. The table below summarises the verified differences.
| Feature | Outlook 2019 | Outlook 2021 | Outlook 2024 |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-time purchase | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Classic desktop client | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Focused Inbox | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Receives security updates | ✕ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Support ends | Ended 2025 | Oct 2026 | Oct 2029 |
Does Outlook 2019 still receive security updates?
No. Microsoft ended support for Outlook 2019 — and the whole Office 2019 family — on October 14, 2025, which was the final patch date; after it there are no security updates, bug fixes, or technical support. The application still opens and connects to mail, but running an unpatched mail client carries growing security and compliance risk, and time-zone or daylight-saving calendar corrections also stop. Outlook 2019 never included cloud-AI features such as Copilot, and Focused Inbox works only with Exchange, Microsoft 365, or Outlook.com accounts, not with plain IMAP or POP mailboxes. Buyers who need an actively supported client should look at Outlook 2021, Outlook 2024, or Microsoft 365 instead.
Which email accounts does Outlook 2019 support?
Outlook 2019 connects to Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, and generic IMAP or POP accounts, and can run several of them side by side in one profile. It stores mail locally in PST files for POP and IMAP accounts or a cached OST for Exchange, so messages stay searchable without a connection. One limitation to plan for: Focused Inbox is available only on Exchange, Microsoft 365, and Outlook.com accounts, so an IMAP or POP mailbox shows a single inbox instead. Some providers also require an app password or modern-authentication setup before the account will connect.
What should users check before choosing Outlook 2019?
First, confirm the operating system: Office 2019 was built for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 and will not install on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1. Second, weigh the support status — support ended on October 14, 2025, so you would be buying software that no longer receives security updates. Third, check that you have a mail account to connect, because standalone Outlook 2019 is only the client and does not host a mailbox or include Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. Finally, if you rely on Focused Inbox, make sure your account is Exchange, Microsoft 365, or Outlook.com, since IMAP and POP accounts do not get that feature.
Frequently asked questions about Microsoft Outlook 2019
Is Outlook 2019 the classic desktop version or the new Outlook?
It is the classic desktop version with the traditional ribbon interface, installed locally and able to work with locally stored PST and OST data. It is not the free "new Outlook for Windows", which is Microsoft's replacement for the old Mail app and routes even IMAP accounts through the Microsoft cloud.
Does standalone Outlook 2019 include Word and Excel?
No. The standalone Outlook 2019 product installs only the Outlook mail and calendar client; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are not included. To get those apps you need an Office 2019 suite edition or a Microsoft 365 plan.
Does Outlook 2019 need a Microsoft 365 subscription to run?
No. Outlook 2019 is a one-time-purchase client and does not require a Microsoft 365 subscription. It does need an email account to connect to — such as Exchange, Outlook.com, or an IMAP/POP mailbox — because it does not provide mail hosting itself.
Is Outlook 2019 available for Mac?
A separate Outlook 2019 for Mac edition existed as part of Office 2019 for Mac, but its security updates ended earlier, on October 10, 2023. On Windows, Outlook 2019 support ended October 14, 2025. Mac users who need a current client should choose Outlook 2024 or Microsoft 365.

Legal Information About Our Products
keys.express and keys.discount are online platforms for product keys. The product keys available in our shops for Windows and other software are inexpensive, secure, legal and come with an activation guarantee.
Below you will find the most important legal information about our products.
Unused and Non-Activated Product Keys
We offer exclusively unused and non-activated product keys. The keys have never been redeemed for activation and are fully available to the purchaser for the first-time activation of the respective product. A key that has already been redeemed could no longer be used for a new activation and is therefore not offered by us.
Trading in these product keys is permissible in the European Union and in Switzerland under current case law, provided that the necessary conditions are met. These conditions are as follows:
- The software must originally have been placed on the market with the consent of the rightholder within the territory of the EU, another contracting state of the EEA, or Switzerland by way of sale.
- The license for the software must have been granted in return for the payment of a fee intended to enable the rightholder to obtain remuneration corresponding to the economic value of the copy of the software.
- The rightholder must have granted the first acquirer the right to use the software permanently (for an unlimited period).
- Any improvements and updates that the subsequently downloaded computer program has compared to the originally downloaded one must be covered by a maintenance agreement concluded between the rightholder and the first acquirer.
- The original licensee must have made their own copies unusable.
This trade is legally permissible because the underlying license was already placed on the market with the consent of the rightholder within the EU/EEA or Switzerland in return for appropriate remuneration. As a result, the so-called principle of exhaustion has taken effect, which permits the resale of individual product keys — in particular those originating from volume license agreements. Microsoft or the respective software provider has already received appropriate remuneration for this.
keys.express and keys.discount ensure that the aforementioned conditions are met and that the lawful use of the software is guaranteed. The requirements arising from European legislation are also observed in Switzerland.
Important note: The acquisition of a product key through the transmission of a combination of numbers and letters in digital form does not, in itself, constitute a license for the lawful use of the program. The license only arises from the respective installation and the associated acceptance of the manufacturer's terms of use.

Overview of the Most Important Legal Information
- We offer unused, non-activated product keys for the activation of the respective computer programs. The key alone is not yet a license.
- The license only arises from the respective installation and the resulting acceptance of the terms of use. These terms of use govern the right to use the software between you and the respective manufacturer.
- The principle of exhaustion has, as a rule, taken effect — i.e. the license is "used up" — as soon as it was lawfully placed on the market for the first time. The products concerned are software placed on the market for unlimited-time use in the form of an activatable product key with the option to download the program. Microsoft or the respective software provider has received appropriate remuneration for this.
- You gain access to particularly attractively priced product keys from volume license agreements, which are to be treated legally in the same way as parts of volume licenses upon first acquisition.
- The software itself is always the same original software that is also obtained through official download channels or manufacturer sources. You are therefore not paying for a different or inferior version, but for a valid activation key or a corresponding license.
- All brand names and brand logos are registered trademarks, whose use here serves solely for product description — the ownership rights lie with the respective trademark holder.
