Standard sits between Home & Business and Professional Plus. It adds Publisher on top of Home & Business but does not include Access, InfoPath or Lync, which only Professional Plus offers. What technical limitations should buyers know about?

Mainstream support for Office 2013 ended in April 2018, and extended support ended on April 11, 2023, which means Microsoft no longer ships security updates for these applications. There is no Office 2013 build for macOS, so this product runs on Windows only. Which Windows versions can run Office 2013 Standard?

Office 2013 installs on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 through Windows 11 21H2 and Windows Server 2022. It was the last Office release to support the original RTM versions of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, which can matter for legacy machines still running those builds without service packs. Does Office 2013 Standard include OneDrive or cloud co-authoring?

Office 2013 can sign in to a Microsoft account and save files to OneDrive, but it does not offer live co-authoring inside Word, Excel and PowerPoint the way Microsoft 365 does. Multiple users editing the same document at the same time will instead see merge prompts and file-lock behaviour from the SharePoint era. If real-time co-editing is part of the daily workflow, Microsoft 365 Apps or a newer perpetual Office release fits better; if files mostly stay on local drives and network shares, Office 2013 Standard is enough.

The keys have never been redeemed for activation and are fully available to the purchaser for the first-time activation of the respective product. A key that has already been redeemed could no longer be used for a new activation and is therefore not offered by us.

Trading in these product keys is permissible in the European Union and in Switzerland under current case law, provided that the necessary conditions are met. These conditions are as follows:

• The software must originally have been placed on the market with the consent of the rightholder within the territory of the EU, another contracting state of the EEA, or Switzerland by way of sale.
• The license for the software must have been granted in return for the payment of a fee intended to enable the rightholder to obtain remuneration corresponding to the economic value of the copy of the software.
• The rightholder must have granted the first acquirer the right to use the software permanently (for an unlimited period).
• Any improvements and updates that the subsequently downloaded computer program has compared to the originally downloaded one must be covered by a maintenance agreement concluded between the rightholder and the first acquirer.
• The original licensee must have made their own copies unusable.

This trade is legally permissible because the underlying license was already placed on the market with the consent of the rightholder within the EU/EEA or Switzerland in return for appropriate remuneration. As a result, the so-called principle of exhaustion has taken effect, which permits the resale of individual product keys — in particular those originating from volume license agreements. Microsoft or the respective software provider has already received appropriate remuneration for this.
