What are the main benefits of Norton by Symantec AntiTrack?

Norton AntiTrack is a privacy tool that hides your digital fingerprint and blocks the trackers and cookies that follow you across the web. It runs as a desktop app with browser extensions and as mobile apps, focused only on anti-tracking rather than acting as a VPN or antivirus.

Beyond Incognito – Stops profiling that private mode still allows.
Fewer Targeted Ads – Cuts invasive ads that follow you around.
Faster Page Loads – Blocking trackers speeds up website loading.
Clear Dashboard – See exactly who tried to track you.
Free Fingerprint Scan – Check any email address for exposure.
Windows Ad Blocking – Blocks tracking by the Windows operating system.

What does Norton AntiTrack do?

Norton AntiTrack hides your online identity so advertisers and websites cannot build a profile of you as you browse. Instead of only clearing cookies, it uses anti-fingerprinting technology that returns dummy data for signals like your IP address, location, device, operating system, screen resolution and fonts. This breaks the unique fingerprint that companies normally use to recognize you across different sites. It also blocks tracking cookies before a page loads and logs every blocked attempt in a dashboard. The result is far less targeted advertising without breaking the websites you visit.

Is Norton AntiTrack a VPN or an antivirus?

No. Norton AntiTrack is a dedicated anti-tracking and privacy tool, not a VPN and not an antivirus engine. It does not encrypt your internet connection or route traffic through remote servers the way Norton VPN does, and it does not scan for or remove malware like Norton 360. Its role is narrower and specific: stopping fingerprinting, trackers and cookies from profiling your browsing. If you also need encrypted connections or malware protection, those are separate Norton products you would run alongside it.

Which browsers and devices does Norton AntiTrack support?

Norton AntiTrack works on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, so your protection follows you across your main devices. On desktop it installs as an app plus a browser extension for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge. The Windows app now also runs on ARM-based processors, not just standard Intel and AMD machines. On Windows it adds OS-level tracker blocking that limits tracking and targeted ads coming from the operating system itself. On mobile, protection is delivered through the Norton AntiTrack browser rather than a system-wide extension.

How does Norton AntiTrack differ from private or Incognito browsing?

Incognito mode mainly hides your activity from other people using the same device; it clears local history and cookies but does nothing to stop websites from fingerprinting you. Norton AntiTrack is built for that gap, obscuring the identifying signals that stay visible even in a private window. Because fingerprinting relies on details like your device and browser configuration, closing a private tab does not reset it, but AntiTrack keeps feeding sites dummy data instead. Norton positions it as offering more privacy than a browser in Incognito mode for exactly this reason. It is the right tool when you want advertisers and data brokers, not just family members, kept in the dark.

What is Private Email in Norton AntiTrack?

Private Email is a feature that helps keep your real email address hidden and free of trackers when you register for services online. Norton AntiTrack also includes a free fingerprint scan that lets you check any email address to see how exposed it is. This matters because leaked or reused addresses are a common way advertisers and spammers link your activity together. One limitation to note: Private Email requires macOS 13.0 or later, so it will not run on macOS 12 or earlier. On supported systems it gives you a cleaner way to sign up for sites without handing over your primary inbox.

Frequently asked questions about Norton by Symantec AntiTrack

Is Norton AntiTrack's anti-fingerprinting available in every country?

No. Norton confirms that the anti-fingerprinting technology is available only in the United States. Tracker and cookie blocking and the tracking dashboard still work more broadly, but the core fingerprint-masking capability is region-limited, so buyers outside the US should factor this in before purchasing.

Can I use Norton AntiTrack together with Norton 360 or a VPN?

Yes. Norton AntiTrack is a standalone privacy product that runs independently of Norton's antivirus and VPN, so it can sit alongside Norton 360 or Norton VPN without conflict. Many users pair it with antivirus for malware defense and a VPN for connection encryption, while AntiTrack handles the tracking and fingerprinting layer those tools do not fully cover.

Does blocking trackers cause websites to break?

Usually not. Instead of simply cutting off data, Norton AntiTrack returns dummy data to websites, which lets pages keep working and loading at normal speed while your real identity stays hidden. It also blocks trackers before the page starts loading, which can make sites load faster rather than slower.
