BitRaser Drive Eraser permanently destroys data by overwriting every addressable storage location, including hidden areas such as the Host Protected Area (HPA) and Device Configuration Overlay (DCO). After the wipe, data cannot be rebuilt with recovery tools, which is what separates a true erasure from a delete or quick format. The software then issues a tamper-proof certificate of destruction and a detailed report that serves as your audit trail. This matters when you retire leased hardware or decommission storage and must prove, on paper, that nothing recoverable left the building.
It wipes loose drives and complete systems across SATA, PATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, USB, NVMe, M.2, PCI, SED and Fusion drive types. No. Drive Eraser sanitizes entire drives and devices, so it is not the tool for removing selected files while keeping the operating system in place. Targeted file, folder, and browser-trace wiping is handled by the separate BitRaser File Eraser, and iPhone, iPad, and Android wiping requires BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics. Hardware diagnostics and Autopilot/MDM detection are available but billed separately from erasure.
