Installation Guide for Visual Studio

Works for Professional and Enterprise editions of Visual Studio 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2026. The flow is the same across editions.

1. Download Visual Studio
2. Run VisualStudioSetup.exe
3. Click Yes on Windows permission
4. Click Continue
5. Select required Workloads → Click Install
6. Wait for installation to complete
7. Open Visual Studio
8. Go to File → Account Settings
9. Click Unlock with a Product Key
10. Enter 25-character Product Key → Click Apply

Detailed Walkthrough

1. Go to the Keys.Express Download Center. Click the Visual Studio link under “Download Files” to start the download.

 

2. Open your Downloads folder. Double-click VisualStudioSetup.exe

3. When Windows shows User Account Control: Click Yes to allow the installer to make changes

4. Read the license and privacy notice. Click Continue

The installer will prepare required files automatically.

5. Choose workloads based on your needs, such as:

• ASP.NET and web development
• Python development
• Node.js development
• Azure development

You can change or add workloads later.

Click Install to proceed.

Visual Studio will now:

• Download components
• Verify packages
• Install selected workloads

6. Create an Account or Skip

7. Open Visual Studio. Go to File → Account Settings

In the Account Settings window: Click Unlock with a Product Key

• A dialog box titled “Enter a product key” will appear
• Enter your 25-character Visual Studio product key
• Click Apply

✔ Visual Studio will validate the key
✔ Once accepted, your Professional license is activated
