Follow these steps to download, install, activate, and perform your first driver scan on Windows.
1) Download the installer
- Open the official Driver-Soft Download page or the product page above.
- Download the Windows installer (e.g.,
DriverGenius23_Professional_Setup.exe).
- Save the file to your
Downloads folder.
2) Run the setup wizard
- Double-click the downloaded
.exe to start setup; approve the UAC prompt (Yes).
- Select language (if prompted) and accept the End-User License Agreement.
- Choose an install location (default is recommended) and click Install.
- When the installer finishes, click Finish.
3) Launch Driver Genius
- Start the app from the Start menu or desktop shortcut: Driver Genius 23 Professional.
- Wait for the home screen to load.
4) Activate / Register your license
- Click Activate / Register (often in the main window or under Help).
- Enter your license key (serial number) and confirm.
- Activation is validated online; the Professional features unlock after success.
5) Update driver database
- Use LiveUpdate or the update button to fetch the latest driver database and modules.
- Ensure the update completes to improve detection accuracy.
6) Run your first scan & update drivers
- Click Start Scan (or Driver Update) to analyze installed drivers.
- Review the detected outdated/missing drivers list.
- (Recommended) Create a driver backup within Driver Genius before updating.
- Select drivers to update and proceed; reboot when prompted to finalize installation.
7) Verify functionality
- Open Windows Device Manager and confirm there are no warning icons on devices.
- Re-run a quick scan in Driver Genius to ensure all selected drivers are up to date.
