Installation Guide for AOMEI Onekey Recovery

This guide walks you through installing AOMEI OneKey Recovery and completing the initial setup so you can press F11 (or A) at startup to restore your system. Each step includes one official manufacturer reference.

1) Check requirements & choose edition

  1. Confirm your OS is supported (Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7/XP/Vista; Windows Server 2025→2008) and that you have sufficient free space.
  2. Decide on the edition (Professional, Technician, Customization) based on how many machines you plan to protect and whether you need branding/custom UI.

2) Download the official installer

  1. Open the product page and click Free Download (or select the edition you purchased).
  2. Save the .exe installer to your PC.

3) Install the application

  1. Right‑click the downloaded .exe and choose Run as administrator.
  2. Follow the setup wizard to completion, then launch AOMEI OneKey Recovery.
  3. On first launch you’ll see two main buttons: OneKey System Backup and OneKey System Recovery.

4) Start initial setup (OneKey System Backup)

  1. Click OneKey System Backup to begin creating your recovery environment.
  2. This will guide you to capture a clean image of your current system for future restoration.

5) Choose where to store the system image

  1. Recommended: Backup system to AOMEI OneKey Recovery Partition (a hidden recovery partition on the system disk).
  2. Alternative: Backup system to other location (external disk/NAS). The bootable recovery environment will still be added to your system.

6) Let OneKey create the recovery partition

  1. OneKey will scan the system disk and select a partition with enough free space to create the factory recovery partition.
  2. If space/layout is insufficient, you’ll be prompted to adjust the target or free up space.

7) Enable & verify the boot shortcut (F11/A)

  1. After backing up, OneKey adds a boot menu entry so you can press F11 (default) or A at startup to enter the recovery environment.
  2. Optionally adjust the boot notice timeout from within the program settings.

8) Run the backup to finish setup

  1. Review your selections and click Start Backup.
  2. Wait until completion; the recovery image and environment are now ready for future restores.

Tip: Keep your OneKey image current. After major Windows updates or app installs, re-run OneKey System Backup to refresh the recovery image.
