Installation Guide for Acronis Snap Deploy for Server Machine License v6

Notes: A Machine License allows repeated deployments to the licensed server during the subscription period. Snap Deploy enables simultaneous deployment of a single master image to multiple machines using multicast or unicast deployment.

Phase 1 — Preparation

  1. Obtain a valid Acronis Snap Deploy 6 license (Machine or Server license).
  2. Verify supported operating systems (Windows Server versions supported for installation and deployment).
  3. Prepare a deployment server with adequate network connectivity and storage for images.

Phase 2 — Install Snap Deploy Components

  1. Download the latest Acronis Snap Deploy 6 installation package from the official Acronis portal.
  2. Run the installer on the deployment server.
  3. Install the required components:
    • OS Deploy Server
    • Management Console
    • License Server
    • PXE Server (optional but recommended for network deployment)
  4. Enter or activate the license during installation (license is consumed when deployment occurs).

Phase 3 — Create Bootable Media

  1. Open Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console.
  2. Use Create Bootable Media wizard.
  3. Select Linux-based or WinPE-based media and add required drivers if needed.
  4. Save media to USB/DVD or configure PXE boot server.

Phase 4 — Create Master Image

  1. Boot the reference server using the created bootable media or PXE.
  2. Launch Master Image Creator.
  3. Capture disk image of the configured server (OS, applications, settings).
  4. Store the master image on the Deploy Server repository.

Phase 5 — Create Deployment Task

  1. Open Management Console and connect to the OS Deploy Server.
  2. Select Deploy Image → Create Deployment Task.
  3. Choose:
    • Master image
    • Target machines (servers)
    • Deployment mode (manual, automatic, scheduled)
  4. Configure machine-specific settings (IP, hostname, domain join if required).

Phase 6 — Deploy to Target Servers

  1. Boot target servers via PXE, USB, or agent deployment.
  2. Start deployment task from the console.
  3. Monitor deployment status until completion.
  4. After deployment, servers reboot with the deployed image and configuration.
