What does ACDSee LUXEA Pro Video Editor do?

LUXEA Pro is a Windows video editor that records, edits and exports video inside one application. The built-in recorder captures screen, webcam, microphone and system audio separately or together and writes MP4 files in real time, so a recording is ready for the timeline without a rendering step. On the timeline you cut, trim and layer clips across multiple tracks, then add keyframes, masks, color LUTs, transitions and text. Finished projects export to formats such as MP4, MOV, WebM or GIF, or upload directly to YouTube, Vimeo or TikTok.

Who is LUXEA Pro Video Editor best suited for?

LUXEA Pro fits people who produce screen-based or creator content on Windows, such as software tutorials, training videos, gameplay captures and vlogs. The practical reason is that recorder and editor work together: pen and brush annotations drawn during recording, a customizable mouse trail and screen capture at up to 120 fps remove the need for a separate capture tool. Nest Presets help anyone who reuses the same intro, lower third or branded segment in many videos, because a saved sequence can be dropped into any new project instead of being rebuilt clip by clip. Mac users cannot use it, because the editor is available for Windows only.

What is the difference between LUXEA Free and LUXEA Pro?

LUXEA Free is ACDSee's no-cost entry version, while LUXEA Pro is the paid edition with the full editing and export toolset. LUXEA Free adds a watermarked intro and outro to every export and produces video only up to 1080p, whereas Pro exports in 4K at up to 60 fps without watermarks. Both AI features, masks, speed ramping, Nest Sequences, LUT import and recording annotations are exclusive to Pro. If the watermark or the 1080p ceiling is your main problem with the free version, Pro solves both directly.

Does LUXEA Pro Video Editor run on macOS?

No, LUXEA Pro Video Editor runs only on 64-bit editions of Windows 10 and Windows 11. ACDSee does not offer a macOS version of LUXEA, so this product is not an option for a Mac-only workstation. ACDSee's current Mac lineup is Photo Studio for Mac, which is a photo application and not a video editor. If you edit on both platforms, plan your video work on the Windows machine.

What is not included in LUXEA Pro Video Editor?

LUXEA Pro is a video recorder and editor only; it does not include ACDSee's digital asset management, RAW photo development or layered photo editing. ACDSee bundles those photo tools, together with 10,000 AI credits per month and 500 GB of cloud storage, only in the ACDSee 365 Complete plan, not in the standalone LUXEA Pro license. AVI files can be imported, but AVI is not among the export formats, which are MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, GIF, MP3 and WAV. DNG and HEIC images can be placed on the timeline as stills, but LUXEA Pro offers no RAW development controls for them.

Which file formats does LUXEA Pro Video Editor support?

LUXEA Pro imports MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, AVI, WMV, FLV, TS, MTS, M2TS, ASF, MPG and MPEG video, plus audio such as MP3, AAC, WAV and OGG and images such as JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and DNG. Version 8 added import of MKV containers and VP9 video, import and export of the VP8 and AV1 codecs, and conversion of HDR footage to SDR. Output formats are MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, GIF, MP3 and, since version 8.5, uncompressed WAV audio. In practice, MKV recordings and HDR clips no longer need a separate converter before editing, which was an extra step with LUXEA Pro 7.

How do the AI features in LUXEA Pro work in practice?

LUXEA Pro 8 includes two AI tools: AI Super-Resolution, which upscales video to 4K, and AI Motion Tracking, which keeps text, effects and graphics attached to a moving subject. Motion Tracking replaces manual keyframing, so a callout or arrow follows a person or object without being repositioned frame by frame. Version 8.5 extended this so filters can also be linked to a tracked subject, for example a blur that stays on a moving face or number plate. AI Super-Resolution helps when older 720p or 1080p clips have to sit inside a 4K project, because it reduces the visible quality gap between sources.

Is the LUXEA Pro interface locked to one language?

No, the interface language is not fixed by the installer. Since version 7.1, LUXEA Pro offers English, German and French, and Japanese was added in version 7.1.2. You choose the language during installation and can switch it later under Options > Language, with additional language packs available through the in-app Pack Manager.

What is new in LUXEA Pro Video Editor 8.5?

Version 8.5, released in March 2026, adds 12 filters, 10 transitions, kerning and leading controls for text, WAV audio export and direct upload to TikTok. On the timeline, Select All Forward and Select All Backward move or trim everything after or before a click point in one action, which saves time when inserting a new segment into a long tutorial. The recorder gained Disappearing Ink, a recorder bar that fades out during capture, and on-demand screenshots without starting a recording. Build 8.5.1 from April 2026 added hardware acceleration for AMD GPUs in the Video Recorder.
