Once someone in the company is expected to answer the question of how an attacker got in, prevention alone stops being enough and detection and response becomes the deciding factor.

Does Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security meet the requirements of Swiss cybersecurity legislation?

The reporting obligation under the revised Information Security Act applies to operators of critical infrastructure, for example energy and drinking water suppliers, transport companies and cantonal and municipal administrations, not to every Swiss company. Affected organisations must report a cyberattack to the Federal Office for Cybersecurity (BACS) within 24 hours of discovering it. NIS 2 requires measures in categories such as risk analysis, incident handling and reporting, business continuity and backup, supply chain security, access control and asset management, and the effectiveness of those measures. GravityZone Business Security contributes to two of these categories directly: incident handling on the endpoint through detection, blocking and automatic remediation, and access control on the endpoint through device control and web access rules. Its Risk Management module also feeds the risk analysis category by surfacing operating system and application misconfigurations. It contributes nothing to business continuity and backup, since ransomware rollback restores files from local shadow copies and is not a backup system, and nothing to supply chain security or to governance evidence.
